The unequalled balladry of Bread and David Gates. Lip-sync performance from c.1977 of a timeless classic, the title track to their last album before they became Toast. By the way, this album has never been released on CD which is simply criminal (update: this album finally saw it's digital reward in December 2006 thanks to the Wounded Bird label - snap them up folks before they disappear!). RIP drummer Mike Botts and guitarist/singer/songwriter James Griffin, the music world lost both of these fantastic musicians in 2005.

Thanks for this, first time i saw the video and this is a 70's song.

The music is timeless, yes.But not those horrible 70's fashions. I'd rather go back to the the fifties and early sixties and wear a three-piecesuit, instead of this polyester nightmare. Plus we could all do without the John Holmes mustaches and hairdos.

So true and there is no true music anymore. This was some of the best.

I think what makes this song so beautiful is the vulnerability, the emotions laid bare for a special someone. That's hard to find amongst today's angst-filled music and that is a loss for music lovers everywhere.
