It is not by no means "all" Gujarati recipes that use sugar, whether in cuddy or any other food. This is a very popular misconception Indians like to have! As Anuja and Hetal say, if you prefer a tarter version, omit the sugar.

Will there be a big difference in taste if it's not added? My friend Chhaya like to make it sweet and it as good without, I'll ask her to make it that way.

We made a comment at the end of the video stating the same. We prefer our kadhi on the tart side so we didn't add any sugar but we said that most Gujarati dishes have sugar so feel free to add it.

gujju kadhi always has sweet flavor frm sugar i guess.. didnt see ya puttin anything to bring the sweetness..
